Dr. Canady is a highly skilled comprehensive ophthalmologist dedicated to restoring and protecting vision for patients across South Florida. He specializes in advanced cataract surgery, comprehensive glaucoma care, and targeted treatments for retinal conditions such as diabetic retinopathy and macular degeneration.
With a patient-first philosophy, Dr. Canady believes exceptional outcomes begin with listening closely, explaining every option clearly, and creating treatment plans tailored to each individual’s needs. His goal is to ensure every patient feels informed, comfortable, and confident in their care.
Dr. Canady earned his medical degree summa cum laude from Morehouse School of Medicine, where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He completed his ophthalmology residency at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas — one of the nation’s top training programs — where he was honored as Resident Teacher of the Year and received the Best Overall Presentation award at the annual Resident & Alumni Day.
An active researcher and educator, Dr. Canady has published in peer-reviewed journals and presented at major national conferences, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He is committed to health equity and mentorship, training future physicians and volunteering at community eye clinics to provide essential vision care to underserved populations.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Canady enjoys traveling, staying active, and exploring South Florida’s vibrant culinary scene.
