Dr. Juan P. Fernandez de Castro is a board-certified ophthalmologist and eye surgeon based in Coral Gables, Florida. He specializes in cataract and refractive surgery, as well as the diagnosis and treatment of anterior segment disorders.

After earning his medical degree from Universidad El Bosque in Colombia, Dr. Fernandez de Castro pursued advanced training in the United States. His postgraduate education included fellowships in Molecular Ophthalmology and Ocular Pathology at the University of Iowa, followed by a General Surgery internship and Ophthalmology residency at the University of Louisville.

Throughout his career, Dr. Fernandez de Castro has contributed to the field through numerous scientific publications and active participation in leading professional organizations. He is affiliated with respected medical societies, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and the American Medical Association.
